In Internal Conflict, Affinity Points serve as the lifeblood of your strategy, allowing you to pay for the cost of cards and unleash devastating abilities upon your opponents. Affinity Points are tied to Affinity Types.
Affinity Types in Internal Conflict are more than just categories for cards, they represent the complex genetic makeup of the SUPACell and Virus organisms. Each Affinity Type is linked to a specific mutation, shaping the characteristics of the units and shot cards. Cards of the same Affinity Type share a bond that is reflected in their gameplay mechanics. The Affinity Types are embodied by their respective icons:
WH (White) type cards emanate a soothing aura of healing, mending wounds and revitalising damaged units.
GR (Green) type cards are the sturdy bulwark of any force, with their high-cost units that can withstand a barrage of attacks.
BU (Blue) type cards are the cunning strategists of the battlefield, manipulating the positions of units and disrupting enemy plans.
BK (Black) type cards are the harbingers of doom, unleashing devastating attacks that leave no survivors in their wake.
PR (Purple) type cards exemplify an insidious approach, sapping the life force of opponents with direct damage that weakens and drains their strength.
RD (Red) type cards are the swift, fiery blades that strike with blinding speed and ferocity, but must be handled with care due to their low hit points.
OR (Orange) type cards are crafty and nimble, able to cycle through their deck with ease to gain the upper hand in any situation.
When you want to play a card, you'll need to spend Affinity Points. To do this, you'll need to match the total Affinity Cost of the card. If the card shows an Affinity Type icon like , then you'll need to pay using Affinity Points. The number of icons indicates how many Affinity Points you'll need to pay.
If the card shows a number icon (colorless), you can pay using Affinity Points of any type. The number on the icon indicates how many points you'll need to pay. If there are any Affinity Type icons listed, add their number to the number listed on the icon to get the total cost of the card.
